This will be a two part series, as many of the fantastic pictures are on Grandpa and Tante's cameras. With two photogs in the family, I didn't take many of my own pictures. From July 4- July 12 we were stationed in an amazing three story house in Schroon Lake with my parental units and sister. Schroon Lake was the town where my family vacationed throughout my childhood-- it is a very special place to us, and I hope it becomes a special place to Owen too. My one complaint about the trip was the bear's sleeping was ATROCIOUS! His naps were terrific-- but his night sleeping consisted of hourly wakings. In a strange turn, when we returned home he began sleeping through the night. One week of crummy resulting in better overall sleeping practices works for us!
Anyways-- on to the trip photos!

We were classy and well behaved the entire vacation. That lady was not with us. We don't know who she is, but she sure did follow us around a lot.

We mastered the "family pose" at a local natural cave and waterfall attraction. Owen has the "disinterested teenager" look down-pat (though most teens are not worn in a papoose). The aforementioned location featured several works of fine sculpture. We chose to "family pose" in front of the sculptures instead of the beauty of nature.

Grandpa and Owen had few laughs at this restaurant before we all spent a few hours and several rolls of quarters at a Lake George arcade. Skee Ball!

The trip was a culinary adventure for Owen. He ate pretty much everything we ate in tiny, bite-sized pieces. His table manners were impeccable. He has become proficient at the "back-handed, shove it in move" that all gourmands aspire to master.

First pizza! Eric and I have pizza at least once a week and consider ourselves the dish's biggest fans. It was very touching to see our little bear devour the food. I was aghast to see him wash it down with a beer-- but boys will be boys.
Lots more to come!

I see you succumbed to the siren song of the Tiny Diner...
Is it me or is Owen's hair already much thicker than when we saw him!
Also, nice work Kate on the Paul Bunyan ball-cradling.
