We have had two Fridays in the past few weeks where we took a morning excursion into Manhattan for some serious fun. The first place we ventured was called
City Treehouse. It is a magical looking place with a star-cave, slide tree and water table the length of a half city-block. Our visit was free. If you live in NYC, I highly suggest calling City Treehouse and setting up a free drop-in session.

The water table was ginormous. Lil, Owen Bear, Owen Moose and Olivia loved splashing around.

Moose spent most of our visit trying to climb
into the water table. One of the staff members told me that at least one kid makes in in per day. Much to Moose's chagrin, he didn't earn those honors.

Olivia and Lillian enjoyed holding hands and sliding down together.

After a trial run of "Toddler Through the Hoop" (captured here), Owen lit the ring on fire and Lil did a spectacular double handspring through. Sadly, the camera batteries died right before that occurred.

Lisa replaced the camera batteries just in time to snap a picture of Owen's victory dance.
A few weeks after our trip to City Treehouse, Lil, Owen and Olivia ventured downtown again to the
Children's Museum of Manhattan.

Owen could not get enough of the ladies. He is a true flirt and relished their attention.
Owen and Olivia were equally flirtatious as we made out way to the Museum. Unfortunately, I didn't capture video of the numerous hug-breaks we took along the way and the ridiculously cute group hug that took place along 81st street.

This motley crew waited patiently for the museum to open.

There are many different levels and rooms in the museum. Owen enjoyed climbing through the musical harp in the baby section. Depending on how you move your arms, in this case Owen deposited his entire self in the harp, different sounds are produced.

What kid wouldn't love a giant winged dragon? This feature was mobbed and Owen's seat on the talking dragon's head was hard won.

A giant version of the light-brite had all three kids working together. I can't show the photo of what they spelled--let's just say they are all grounded for two weeks.

After an exciting morning at the museum we took the kids to Shake Shack. After recently watching Food Inc., I am afraid to give Owen non-grass-fed beef; the Shack only serves hamburgers (make fun of me if you will but YOU watch the movie and tell me what you would do). Owen was beyond thrilled to have a lunch that consisted of french fries, and berries I begged off of Lil and Olivia's moms. I spent the rest of the day paranoid that he was going to get ill or instantly become obese from an unhealthy lunch. An alternate upsetting scenario that ran through my head was that Owen would spend the rest of his days refusing to eat anything but french fries and fruit. You
can make fun of me for that.
We can't wait for next time! The naps that followed these exciting mornings were epic and the fun we had with our wonderful friends will not be forgotten. We are very lucky to live in this amazing city and have such wonderful people in our lives.
