Easter was hosted by my parents and Nanny and Poppy joined us. It was a really great day. We may not have the religion thing down pat, but we definitely have the big loving family thing squared away. Sadly, Katie couldn't join us this year so Owen's first Easter was devoid of fart jokes and loud belches.

Pastel Easter Paradise
Owen celebrated his first Easter last weekend. We are not a religious bunch. We celebrate all the Christian holidays, and all the Jewish holidays without mixing any of the...um.....God stuff into it. Blasphemous, I know. We get all the fun and food with none of the temple or church. To me Easter is all about pastels, pretty eggs, chocolate and disturbing cakes. Like any good holiday, it is most importantly about the joys of family and spending time together. We are incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful families. An added bonus is everybody gets along with and loves everyone else.

The heathen grandparents.
The schicksa and the Jews for Jesus ( well, on Easter anyway)
We were blessed with a visit from Fauxen. An Easter miracle!
Decked out in pastel and being swooned over by mama.
Being thrilled by the hunt. This level of excitement cannot be faked.
The lamb cake has nothing on us.

Ahh, what a lively social life we have, spending Saturday night commenting on each other's blogs.
I have already noted the genius of your cake and the adorableness of Owen in his Easter garb on FB so I will just share 2 thoughts here:
1. When I was scrolling down this post and the "fauxen" photo came up, Jon glanced over and said "Who's that??"
2. It only adds to your appeal as a shiksa goddess that you don't know how to spell shiksa.
LOL! Robin-- I googled the spelling and was offered multiple options including the one I used. Damn you Wikipedia!
we certainly do have the loving family thing down pat...and the adorable delicious child down pat too!
love, ninny
Excuse me, but I believe that Grandpa was still present at the Easter celebration, so don't blame me if there were no fart jokes and loud belching, the talent was present regardless.
