New England: Part 1: Bear in the Pool!

June 5-7 we traveled north to the great states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. On the way to Boston for a mini-Wheaton Reunion, we stopped in Providence to visit Eric's cousin Rachel, her hubby Doug and their delicious new bubbin, Eli. More on that in New England: Part 2. We left Providence and headed to Waltham, Massachusetts. We were extremely excited to get to Waltham (weird, I know) because we knew that nestled in our giant, ugly, Westin Hotel was a pool.
Owen had never been swimming before-- he still hasn't as he is too young to swim. He had never been in any body of water other than the womb and the bath-tub. Had we been patient and waited for warm weather our "first pool" pictures could have been taken somewhere pretty and outside, but we couldn't wait weeks when the chance to swim was upon us!
Despite being indoors, it was FREEZING water!

The cold water and new environment made Owen very quiet. He seemed a little bit nervous.

We did what any good parents of a nine-month-old would do when faced with chilly water. We took that aforementioned 9-month-old and moved him into the hot-tub. Sure the sign said no children under the age of 15, but we know better than those silly sign writers.

Okay, before calling protective services, I should probably mention that the hot tub was turned off and was a warm , not hot, 98 degrees. I figured that out by tossing Owen into the hot tub and seeing whether he screamed and turned flaming red. When he didn't I knew it was safe for Eric and me to go in.

Something about a wet baby in a giant towel that brings on lots of kisses.

Nobody is immune from the urge to kiss a wet baby.

Despite being a little nervous, Owen had a grand old time. We have a water baby on our hands!

Oh my god, his little grin in that last photo - in the words of the immortal Rachel Zoe, I die.

Looks like Moley made an appearance in the 1st photo - fortunately she brought her excellent MILF rack to distract from the heinous facial expression...
